Did you hear the lonely wolf wail,
Wail to the pack lost to a shadowy grave?
Did you see it?
Did you see it run,
Run with deep fear that carried him?
Did you hear it?
Did you hear the blood-shrill cry,
Cry of the bullet driving the last wolf's life out?
